3D Scanners for Small Parts & Miniatures

Small and intricate components demand high-precision scanning. When customers want to buy a 3D Scanner for small part sizes, we always suggest Optical 3D scanners, also called structured light 3D Scanners, designed specifically for such delicate tasks. These scanners come with optional fields of view (FOV), enabling users to capture small parts with micro-details as well as scan slightly larger objects. The smallest FOV offers an accuracy of 5 microns, which goes up to 20 microns based on the scan FOV you select. These scanners are usually stationary-type tripod scanners that are used in controlled environments. If you need a 3D scanner for small and miniature parts with high precision, accuracy and details, you should go for strutted light scanners.

3D Scanner For Long range object

If your primary requirement is to scan large components—such as wind turbines, turbine blades, complete machinery, trucks, vehicles, or aerospace parts—and you prefer a handheld 3D scanner, then the FreeScan UE Nova is the right choice. The UE Nova offers one of the largest fields of view (FOV)with 2.2 to 2.6 meters in its category in the market. UE Nova has a flexible working range; you can stay near an object with a 300 mm distance for the tight space scanning environment and away from 2600 mm for large objects. UE Nova also has Video Photogrammetry technology, ensuring high accuracy even on large surfaces. Accuracy: 72 microns for objects under 1 meter. Volumetric accuracy: 12 microns per meter for larger parts. The UE Nova is also designed for outdoor scanning and comes with lens filters to enhance its performance in outdoor environments. If you need a fast, efficient, and precise scanning solution for large-scale objects, FreeScan UE Nova is the best choice.

Markerless Scanning for Extra-Large Objects with micron-level accuracy

All the previous models you've seen above require scanning markers based on the object size. When scanning a large object, markers help align one scan shot to another and maintain accuracy if the object moves.

If you're looking to scan a large object without using any markers and with micron-level of accuracy, you may choose tracker-based 3D scanners, ideal for scanning entire aircraft, bigger aerospace components, entire ships, railways, and heavy engineering applications where large-object 3D scanning is essential.

We have curated three dynamic tracker-based 3D scanners. Each of our tracker units supports a different volume range, within which scanners can capture the object without the need for any scanning markers. All our tracker systems utilise SHINING 3D's patented video-based photogrammetry technology to enhance overall accuracy.

LiDAR Scanning for Ultra-Large Environments

Are you looking to scan anything beyond 50 meters? Is the size of the object to be scanned defined by the area? For example, an entire plant, a large machine assembly, or even large mechanical structures that require millimetre-level accuracy, you may consider LiDAR scanners.

These scanners are capable of scanning objects up to 5 times faster than short-range scanners and are commonly referred to as long-range laser scanners. You can even scan objects up to 100 meters in size in a single shot, as our tripod-mounted LiDAR scanners have no size limitations.

LiDAR scanners do not require markers, and you don’t have to scan every profile in detail manually. Simply position the Scanner at a suitable distance, take a scan shot, and it will generate millions of 3D coordinate points per second, accurately replicating the object and area you scan.

We offer lidar scanners from Leica Geosystems to scan large-scale objects and environments.
